Malta suffers heaviest air raid yet
21 March 1942: The besieged island is hit yet again as more Spitfires are flown in to reinforce the air defences.
The Luftwaffe and the Regia Aeronautica Italiana now began stepping up their bombing attacks on British occupied Malta.
