13th January 1942: Just one survivor from U-224 as the U-Boat war hots up

The Flower-class corvette HMCS Weyburn. These small corvettes were at the forefront of the U-Boat war. Weyburn was lost in February 1943 when she struck a mine outside Gibraltar with heavy loss of life when her armed depth charges exploded as she sank.
