Screaming Eagles rushed to Bastogne

19th December 1944: The Airborne Divisions, reforming in the rear areas, are among the first troops rushed forward to halt the German attack

The 101st arrived in Bastogne, poorly equipped for the weather and lightly armed. Morale was high despite the fact that they knew they would have some time to wait for armoured support.
