The site of the International Trade Fair and Exhibition Ground at Sajmište in Belgrade had been used by the SS as an extermination centre. Over 90% of Serbian Jews had been murdered in 1941-42, the women and children at this site. Later in the war, it was a notorious concentration camp known as ‘Semlin Judenlager’.
