This photograph of Japanese soldier Yasuno Chikao just before he struck Leonard Siffleet, was taken from the body of a Japanese casualty later in the war. Yasuno Chikao died before the end of the war. This image is well known, the accompanying image of the execution of one of Siffleet’s fellow soldiers less so.
