The cargo and passenger liner SS Anselm, 5,954 gross tons, of the Booth Steamship Company. Wm Denny & Bros of Dumbarton, Scotland built her in 1935. She was converted into a troop ship in 1940 and sunk on 5 July 1941 in the Atlantic by a torpedo fired by U-96.

On the 5th July 1941, the troopship HMT Anselm, carrying RAF personnel to Africa, was torpedoed…
