15th May 1941: The British discover that they will need new tanks if they are to successfully face the Germans

The heavy armour of the Matilda Infantry or ‘I’ tank had proved to be impervious to Italian guns. Matildas led the British attack on the 15th May. But the Wehrmacht had just adopted a new weapon.
