21st November 1940: RAF fighters are still intercepting Luftwaffe intruders in the south of England
With the benefit of hindsight, it was later decided that the Battle of Britain had finished at the end of October 1940. That decision was for the purposes of awarding medals. It later became the basis for several historical narratives built around specific dates.
